TUXX's Story...
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

THIS IS TUXX.....a dapper dude who truly didn't look so dapper when he was at the Baldwin Park Shelter!! This 16 lbs, 1.5-2 yr old, b/w, Shih Tzu....who probably has a dash of Lhasa Apso in him, was spotted by one of LHH's friends, and she said "we just have to save his life." So, we did! Tuxx is a very happy boy, with a great balance of puppy play and calm in his demeanor. He loves other dogs, people, children, everything except cats!! He would be great in a family with kids over 8 yrs old, with a nice yard and another canine buddy to romp around with. He's a kissyface lover who is a little willful, but not bossy. He will let you know when he wants to play or if he wants to get his toy back from you! The right home for Tuxx will provide him with lots of love, attention, chew toys and training! He's learning to sit, go down, stay and to walk well on a leash, thanks to his wonderful foster. He is crate trained and is doing well with potty training....continued training will make him the best companion he can be!! Tuxx will be available January 13. If he sounds like a dog for you.....come and get him!

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!

If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We want to give you the time you deserve, so please help us help you!! We will contact you once it has been reviewed.

Most Sundays, unless we are doing a special event, we are at My Pet Naturally (12001 W. Pico Blvd., West LA 90064) from 11a-3:30pm. You can see this, and many more, adorable pups at this weekly event! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!!! And don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on events we may be doing! See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes.

Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption....and for considering saving a life. It will be the best gift you ever give yourself or your family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

TUXX, a Los Angeles Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
