Shadow's Story...
Shadow is a spayed 7 year old female. She has short soft fur and up to date with vaccines. Shadow is quite skittish until she gets to know you. She loved to snuggle on her elderly owners lap. She hides when strange dogs are around but was fine with one small quiet dog. She is nervous around strangers. She likes to go outside now and then but doesn't stay out too long. She is inside full time while in foster care. She has all her claws but seldom scratches. She is bonded to Simon and they must be adopted together to the same family. As Simon is deaf, Shadow is his ears. They love to play and snuggle together. They will do best in a home with a mature family and no other pets as they have lived for many years with an elderly man who recently passed away and they are used to a calm and quiet life.

If you wish to apply to adopt Shadow (and Simon), please visit our website at and click on her bio for an online appllication.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shadow, a Duart Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Duart, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Duart.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Duart already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Duart breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Duart paves the way for another one to be saved.
