DIXIE is a 6-month old Mini Aussie-Heeler mix, probably already full-grown. She is compact but she is strong and healthy - she LOVES cuddling. Since we just got her she still has a slight tendency to do the very, very gentle herding "nip" but she would be better with kids old enough to understand or families who have had this breed before.
Dixie is old enough to be in a home during the day with people who work regular hours, but she still needs to be kept in a crate and let out every 4 hours so arrangements would need to be made for a lunchtime visit to the house. If there were one more dog in a safe yard she would be happy outdoors in nice weather.
Dixie is such a little cuddle bug, but loves to play "keep away" and will be an excellent running partner, agility dog and loyal friend. She is about 30 lbs and fully vetted.
General Info - PLEASE READ! Our $350 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 5 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption and all puppies under this age will have future spay/neuter coupon at time of adoption.

Rescue Group Info...
I am the Executive Director - I started NDDR with a select group of co-resuing friends and neighbors because we saw a need to rescue very adoptable dogs from Death Rows at municipal shelters and believe through foster care we can work with and train these dogs to be ideal family pets.
We do not have a shelter - we accept online applications and either have individuals meet at foster homes or we will bring dogs to a safe, fenced neutral area - depends on situation.
