About Our Rescue Group...
Orange County Cavy Haven is a non-profit organization dedicated to rehoming guinea pigs in Southern California. We rescue abandoned guinea pigs from shelters in Orange and Los Angeles counties.

Our guinea pigs are rehabilitated, socialized, and fostered by volunteers until they are ready to be adopted.

Orange County Cavy Haven was founded in 2003 as a rescue for guinea pigs. Although we are based in Orange County, we rescue guinea pigs from L.A. and Bay Area shelters as well. We also have foster homes in L.A. County.

We are always in need of new foster homes. Please email to find out more info about fostering for our rescue. To find out more about our rescue, visit out website.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Daisy and Selena, a Costa Mesa Guinea Pig was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Guinea Pig for sale in Costa Mesa, or seeking a Guinea Pig from a breeder in Costa Mesa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Costa Mesa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Costa Mesa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Guinea Pig breeders who help with Guinea Pig rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Costa Mesa paves the way for another one to be saved.
