Animal's Story...
Animal is a 1 year old sweet and super soft buff & white boy kitty who gets along incredibly well with other cats. A gentle and snuggly little man, Animal is generally full of sweetness and affection, allowing plenty of hugs and kisses (especially at meal time!)

Animal's most distinguishing characteristic is how well he does with other cats. He gets along with boys and girls, young and old, and all the younger foster kittens in the house have taken him on as their "big brother." He makes sure they are all accounted for and cleans them, hugs them and plays with them daily. The boy kittens seem especially drawn toward him. He really needs a home where he can play the big brother role to other kitties, or where he can be adopted as a pair with one of his foster home companions (Alfalfa, Froggy or Miss Piggy).

Animal’s favorite things when he isn't loving on his kitten friends or sister (Miss Piggy) include eating, chasing the laser pointer or wand toy, and relaxing on the bed or couch when his humans settle down for TV or bedtime. He definitely has lap cat potential, but his foster parents rarely sit down for long enough periods for him to make that into a habit!

Animal is very healthy, neutered, current on vaccines, and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV. He is going to be very shy for the first few weeks in a new situation, so he will need a home where his humans will be patient with his initial shyness and will give him lots of gentle love as he gets settled in. Once he is comfortable and not scared, he is a super lovable, soft & gentle guy!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Animal, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
