Four lovely pointer girls were surrendered to Rawhide Rescue when a breeding kennel cut back on their breeding program. They are: Babe, Babe's daughter Crash, both brown and white, and Sue and Speckles, these two black and white. Babe and Sue are about 5 years old, Crash is 1.5 and Speckles is 2.. They are beautiful examples of their breed, and have all been used in the field. Babe and Sue were used for breeding but are in good condition in spite of a few litters of puppies. They come from champion breeding stock and we think it would be a perfect home where they could both be house pets and also be able to be in the field. English pointers are active dogs that require a lot of exercise to be happy. If you think you can offer them this environment, maybe yours is the right home for one of these sweet girls.

All four have "run with the pack". That is when Rawhide volunteers get together with 10 - 20 of their foster dogs and let them run and play in a large fenced-in area. The "Pointer Sisters" do very well at these gatherings and have learned to co-mingle with all kinds of breeds and canine personalities. At first they may have been surprised that the others could actually keep up with them but now they actually enjoy when they need to keep up with the likes of Clint and JD, no slouches in the field themselves.

These girls have lived their lives in a kennel environment so they will need some patience and work to incorporate them in a household. We were told that the first day Hunter (also a EP) spent in his new home, his new mom was afraid of what she would find when she returned home. To her surprise, this big boy who was all over the place the first night home, had quickly settled in and started behaving like a house pet almost immediately.. And, Hunter was only 10 months old! These dogs are quick learners.

The girls were spayed on 7/31/07, and brought up on their vaccinations as well as heartworm tested.
