Marcus's Story...

My name is Marcus and I am only a year old puppy with cute big paws! Someone left me and I was found wandering outside as a stray. I had problems finding food and I got skinny but I am healthy on the inside according to my doctor. No one ever came to claim me after I was picked up. I will greet you by sitting and putting my head on you so you can pet me because I am a pretty calm puppy. Right now I am staying with my foster mommy in Columbia, IL. She is working on getting weight on me so I am eating up a storm! I have made friends with Mason, her 3 year old golden retriever and I love to run and play with him. I get along with other dogs and cats. I don’t jump on furniture and get into anything around the house although I do like to inspect counter tops, which my foster Mommy is teaching me that is not a nice thing to do. I know my crate and stay there during the day while she is at work (but I can’t wait for her to come home and play!). I know my basic commands like sit and off but am eager to learn all the tricks you want to teach me, especially if you have bacon flavored treats which are my favorite! J I am eager to find my own family to love and take care of like they will do for me. St. Louis Missouri

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marcus, a St. Louis Weimaraner dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Weimaraner for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Weimaraner dog from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Weimaraner breeders who help with Weimaraner rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
