Baloo's Story...
Hi there! My name is Baloo. I am a big, happy, hyper lug of a dog. I do just fine with the other dogs, but I am told that I really need to learn my manners with people. It just appears that I have had absolutely little to no training, so I don't know if something I am doing is bad or not. Hey, I'm a dog, after all, and I am only gonna do what they've trained (or in this case, have not) trained me to do. But I'm well worth the extra effort and I can't wait for you to teach me! So if you're looking for a big, fun, happy lab mix boy please come meet me!!

About Our Shelter...
The Columbiana County Dog Pound is a small, rural shelter in eastern Ohio. At one time, only a small percentage of the dogs entering the Pound made it out alive. Now, thanks to the vision of the County Commissioners, the Pound staff, and a dedicated group of volunteers, the Pound has become a source of hope. It is a place where lives are saved, not lost.

Now, thanks to the vision of the County Commissioners, the Pound staff, and a dedicated group of volunteers, the Pound has become a source of hope. It is a place where lives are saved, not lost.
Columbiana was one of the first counties in the state to require that all dogs be spayed/neutered before leaving the Pound. This policy addresses the pet overpopulation problem at its source.

Hours:
Monday - Wednesday: 9am to 12pm, 1pm to 4pm
Thursday: 9am to 12pm, 1pm to 4pm
Friday: 9am to 12pm, 1pm to 4pm
Saturday: 9am to 12pm
Sunday: Closed.
If these times are inconvenient for you, call the staff and arrange a time to meet the dogs...

Our Adoption Process...
The adoption fee is $100, which includes a DHLPP vaccine, a rabies vaccine, de-worming, an Ohio dog license, and spay/neuter surgery. Additional low-cost vet care is available upon request.

Approved rescue groups can pull dogs at reduced fees.
