SMILEY's Story...
Meet SMILEY! This fella is as sweet on the inside as he is cute on the outside. SMILEY is a Beagle mix, about 2-3 years old and weighs around 28 pounds. He is a happy little guy who will make his lips look like a “smile” when he gets excited! He shares the Beagle traits in that he is inquisitive and socializes well with all ages! SMILEY will make a great family companion! Smiley is presently in the CAMP CANINE PROGRAM. When he finishes the 8-10 week program, he will be an AKC Good Citizen who knows basic commands (sit, stay, down) and other skills he’ll need to interact politely with humans and other dogs. He is fully-vetted, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped. SMILEY is looking for a family to share his love of life. If you would like to meet or receive more information on SMILEY, please give Lisanne at the Humane Society of Oldham County a call at 502-795-7151 or email lisannehsoc@att.net!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SMILEY, a LaGrange Beagle/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in LaGrange, or seeking a Beagle/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in LaGrange.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in LaGrange already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a LaGrange breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Beagle/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in LaGrange paves the way for another one to be saved.
