Josh's Story...
I’m very cute, aren’t I? I’m 9 months old and already very smart. I know what “go outside” means and “sit” and “ kennel” means run in the other direction. But, I have a lot more to learn.

Sometimes I don’t do things right ‘cause I’m still a puppy. That’s why we’re so cute. So you won’t get mad at us while we’re learning. With consistency, lots of praise and love it won’t take long to teach me how to be a good boy.

I have already learned to like lots of things. I like people, toys (anybody’s), food, playing and running with other dogs and wrestling with my sister. Socks are pretty cool, too. Sometimes I eat them.

I also have some medical stuff. A car hit me when I was little. Everything is fixed because of all the neat people at AZGRC and the hospital. But, I’m going to need to take meds the rest of my life, will need to continue with some exercises and you have to keep me at my normal weight.

There’s one more very important thing. My sister, Jade, needs me. We would really like to be adopted together. So if you have a lot of patience and love in your big warm heart, Jade and I would love to come live with you forever. CLICK HERE to watch a video of Jade and me playing together.

* Our policy is that we will not place Golden Retrievers under the age of 3 with families that have children that are 3 or less years of age. Young Golden Retrievers can be very excitable around young children, so we recommend older Goldens for families with very young children.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Josh, a Scottsdale Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Scottsdale, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Scottsdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Scottsdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Scottsdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Scottsdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
