Cash's Story...
Hi, my name is Cash. I was named after Johnny Cash, the "Man in Black". I am probably a Mexican Hairless/Terrier mix and I was probably born sometime in early 2008. I used to belong to a lady who was elderly and couldn't get around very well. One day I got out of the house and was hit by a car. Well an angel saw me get hit and stopped to help me. She thought that I was going to die so she took me to the vet. It must have been my lucky day, because I'm just fine after all. I had a few scrapes but they have all healed and none of my bones were broken. Anyway, the lady who used to be my mom gave me up to Animal Allies so that they can find me a good home that can take care of me with good medical care and good quality dog food.

My foster mom really thinks that I'm the cat's meow (speaking of cats, I used to live with a few so I'm used to their crazy, catty ways:) ). She says that I'm one of the best foster dogs she's ever had and that if people only knew what a great boy I am they would be beating down the door to adopt me! The only bad thing that I've done is dash out the door one time, so you have to keep an eye on me when you go in and out (or be able to run really fast... LOL). But other than that, I'm golden. I haven't had any accidents in her house or tried to mark (which won her heart, that's for sure!). I am fine in the crate (in fact I like to go in there and sleep because it's nice and cozy) but you will find that I DON'T NEED to be crated because I'm such a good boy. All of the people in my house like me a lot. They appreciate my calm and quiet nature and sweet disposition. I talk a lot (not bark, TALK) and I can hold quite a conversation.

I get along fine with the other dogs in my foster home, and I like to play now that I've found out how fun it is. Check out the video of me and Bart at the dog park! We had a great time! I get along best with other non-aggressive little dogs, as an only dog OR with a cat or two that will be nice to me in my new forever home. As you can see in picture, I am kid-friendly. That's me with my friend who is 4 years old.

I don't really care about toys and there are only a few treats that I like (o.k, so I'm picky!). But I will be happy to snuggle on your lap while you watch TV and sleep in bed with you if you'll let me. My favorite person at my foster home is a man so I could be considered a "man's dog" LOL. Oh, and I LOVE to go on walks.

Well, that's my story. So if you want a calm, sweet, healthy and well-behaved little guy in your life please fill out an application for me, CASH, today at http://www.animalalliesoftexas.org/adoption-application/ . Thank you!

About Animal Allies of Texas

About Our Rescue Group...

Animal Allies of Texas is a 501(c)(3) animal advocacy/rescue organization, dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community. Our goal is to build a no-kill shelter on enough land to house not only "adoptable" animals, but "treatable" ones as well - those who need medical care or behavior modification to become adoptable. While working toward this goal, we will also engage in community service and humane education projects to help bring about "humanity championed by thought."

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoption events at one or more locations every week end. Please check the calendar on our web site www.animalalliesoftexas.org for specific locations and times.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters must submit an application, either online via our web site www.animalalliesoftexas.org or a paper application at an adoption event. General requirements for adoption: You must live in the DFW/Ft. Worth/North Texas area - we do not adopt outside this area. Dogs must be primarily inside, and cats must be totally inside. Cats must not be declawed. All pets must be spayed/neutered if this has not been done prior to adoption. Adopter must agree to a home visit prior to adoption. Adopter MUST agree to return pet to AAT if he/she can no longer keep the pet or if AAT deems it to be in the best interest of the pet. An adoption agreement detailing these and other requirements must be signed to finalize adoption. Current fees are: dogs-$175, cats-$110. This covers all vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchipping.
