Ashes's Story...
This kitten is located in Henrico County, near Short Pump. DOB 9/28/12

My name is Ashes and I am a beautiful & fluffy medium hair black kitten. I charm everyone I meet with my sweet and playful antics. I love to hug your neck when you pick me up and play peek-a-boo with you that can make you laugh very hard!! I'm desperately looking for a family of my own to love... I'm always so happy to see my foster mom that when she picks me up I rub, rub, rub on her like there's no tomorrow...

I am a special needs kitten because I was tested positive for FIV. Since I'm still a baby and it's a mild case, I'm hoping I can grow out of it. I really need a home of my own or with another kitty with FIV. My foster mom is desperately looking for a another home (foster or permanent) as she's not able to keep me... she has many other foster cats and kittens in her care that are FIV negative. Other than the FIV, I am a very healthy and playful kitten.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ashes, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
