Helen is a happy, healthy, affectionate, curious and sweet natured kitty. She comes with a story of determination and resiliency.
When Helen was spayed, she awoke from anesthesia blind. Apparently the anesthetics somehow affected her optic nerves.
We observed signs of Helen's vision returning, and we hoped that her optic nerves would regenerate completely in time, and THEY DID!
Helen's vision is not perfect, but she sees everything now! She acts and plays and gets around like a normally sighted cat in her foster home.
So, Helen came with a sad story which will hopefully end even more happily when she is adopted into a loving new and permanent home.

PEOPLE AND CATS TOGETHER IS CELEBRATING 32 YEARS
OF COMMUNITY SERVICE TO THE GREATER LOS ANGELES AREA
People and Cats Together (PACT) is an all volunteer non-profit humane organization located in the Los Angeles area and primarily based in the South Bay. We were founded and established in 1981 and were the first group ever to be accepted and welcomed into a Petco store to do our cat adoptions. We are devoted to our own rescue efforts, the rescue efforts of individuals who need help with placements, and we help people who, for every reason in the world, do not want to keep their own cat/s. We are active in funding local spay and neuter programs to benefit the general public, and we also lend humane traps for TNR free of charge to anyone wishing to help curb the feral cat population.
Our adoption shows are from 11:00 to 4:00 every Saturday at the Redondo Beach Petco, 537 North Pacific Coast Hwy.
All of the cats and kittens (yes, that includes the eight week old kittens too) are already spayed or neutered. Most of our hopeful adoptees have been tested for FELV/FIV. They are given their FVRCP vaccination, and they have also been de-wormed and treated for fleas.
Adopting a Friend
When you come in to visit our cat adoption shows you will be greeted by an experienced PACT volunteer who will be happy to assist you in choosing the perfect kitty suitable for your lifestyle and household. We will interview you in order to determine which of our adoptees will be the best candidates for your consideration. There are usually about 40 cats and/or kittens from which to choose, which can be a bit overwhelming to a potential adopter. We pride ourselves on our match-making abilities and we are there to help you.
Our required minimum adoption donation is $100.00, payable by check or cash (we do not accept credit or debit cards). This amount includes a free vet exam, an informative cat care packet, a cat collar of your choice with a temporary ID tag, a cat magazine, a cat toy. Also included are all previously preformed veterinary services including spay/neuter, FELV/FIV test, if tested, de-worm, de-flea, FVRCP vaccination/s, and any medications the cat may need to continue taking. The donation amount is tax deductible to the extent the law provides.
Please note that we are trying to find loving and committed new homes for the remaining lifetime of our cats. For this reason, we reserve the right to refuse adoptions to prospective adopters when we deem it necessary.
We want you to be aware that although it may be expensive, future veterinary services may become necessary in order to maintain the good health any type of animal that you own, and that this is a part of responsible and caring pet ownership.
If for any reason you need or wish to return a cat that you have adopted from us, you may do so within 30 days for a full refund of your adoption donation. After that, be it months or even years, we will help you to place the cat into a new home by asking you to participate in our re-adoption program. In some critical instances, we will take the cat back.
People and Cats Together believes that cats and people deserve all of the happiness and joy that pet ownership can bring. We are always available to help you solve any problems that may occur for years to come. We just want everyone to be happy forever with their adopted family members.
