Dwight's Info...

| Size: | Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) | Sex: | Male |
Meet Dwight! An adorable 6 month old neutered male. Dwight is a playful puppy with the right level of energy. He is currently around 20 lb. and our best guess is he will be close to 40 lb. when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed as he is an abandoned puppy.
Dwight is the happiest puppy ever despite his sad story. He was found in the middle of the highway in Guatemala with a bad injury in one of his front legs as he was run over by a car. Though he came to the dog rescue very scared he is now recovered. His leg has already healed and though it might look a bit funny, he will have no problem walking or running. Dwight will be a great addition to any home.
Dwight will be coming to the Seattle area in mid-February. If you would like to meet him, you will need to fill out an application first. Please email to request one.
There is an adoption fee as we are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit. 100% of the adoption fee is used to cover Dwight’s travel expenses from Guatemala to Seattle and to rescue more dogs in the shelter.
Shelter Info...
AWARE (Animal Welfare Association - Rescue/Education) is a non-profit, non-governmental charitable organization, founded in Guatemala in 1998. AWARE is financed solely through membership subscriptions and private donations. The principal activity of AWARE is running spay and neuter campaigns. We have a permanent on-site spay/neuter clinic, run monthly spay and neuter campaigns using volunteer vets, and work to raise awareness for animal welfare in Guatemala. We also rescue and rehabilitate hurt animals. We believe in education as a sustainable means to embetter the lives of all animals, and we work to educate students in local schools about the topic.
Adoption fee will vary by dog.
An adoption application and contract is required.
All our adoptable dogs come from Guatemala. A poor country where dogs are malnourished due to poverty or are abandoned due to lack of appreciation if they are not pure breeds.
We are now serving the Seattle area thru a small network of volunteers to offer different and beautiful dogs.
