Saffron's Story...
Saffron got declawed...got mad, learned to bite and got dumped. I have worked with her and brought her from a hissing little devil to a sweet and trusting little Siamese kitty, with a sweet little voice, Unfortunately, Saffron is one of the many to develop other means of protecting themselves, and until she feels comfortable, she will attempt to bite. I have had her for about 3 months and she has become a truly sweet girl. We haven't even had a growl in weeks. Still a little unsure of herself, she hangs around the back part of the house. She is now friendly with the other cats and shares her food and space with them willingly...but still avoids the dogs. I go in several times and day and snuggle and smooch with her and find her to be a very responsive and talkative girl. She calls me when her food dish needs refilling. She needs a quiet home with an owner who has a lot of patience and will allow her the time to readjust to new surroundings. Even with her past propensity to lunge at me, I need to say that she has never really bitten me, but I've also respected her space and not pushed her beyond what is comfortable for her. She is a three year old Flame Point Siamese who is declawed on the front paws. If you are interested in Saffron, please complete an application from our website and email it to mtavenner@roadrunner.com or fax it to 267-636-4086. Saffron can be seen at my house in Winchester (French Valley) once we have an approved application.

About Our Rescue Group...
Feline Underground Rescue was created in order to fill a need in the Inland Empire community that exists because too many unwanted or abandoned cats and kittens are being needlessly euthanized in shelters. We have started this new nonprofit animal rescue group so that we can rescue many of these cats and kittens either directly from the shelters or before they are turned in to a shelter in order to save their lives, provide them the necessary medical care and prepare them for adoption.
Our adoptable cats and kittens will go to their FURever homes having been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, tested for Feline Leukemia, and treated for fleas and worms while being lovingly cared for in a network of foster homes and adoption centers run by volunteers. Potential adopters will be carefully screened via an application process which our Board of Directors will design with certain parameters to adhere to.
Our network of foster families specializes in nursing back to health the sick or underage kitties that often do not get the opportunity to be adopted in shelter situations. Volunteers of all ages and stages of life will be welcomed and trained in the areas they can comfortably provide their services to our organization in order to serve the community.

Our Adoption Process...
We require an application to be filled out and approved prior to selecting an adopter for the animal. Once approved, the applicant is matched to an appropriate pet for their lifestyle and an adoption agreement is completed. We do have adoption fees associated with the adoption of most of our animals to cover medical and supply costs.
