Orion's Story...
This handsome brown tabby Maine Coon mix boy is Orion! He was adopted out from Town Cats as a young cat, along with his sister; the two were brought to the San Jose shelter after their owner died. Town Cats was notified and they were brought back to the shelter. His sister has already found a new home, and he's been left behind.

Orion was brought to the Tails and No Tales Cat Show in January of 2013, and entered as a Household Pet! He won eight ribbons, plus a Spectator Award ribbon! His calm demeanor and good looks won him many fans, although he didn't get adopted at the show...

He was fostered in preparation for the show. His foster family said that he was very glad and excited to be in a home, and was very interested in meeting the resident cats (although they kept him separate just in case). He appeared unafraid of the resident dogs. Therefore, they think he would be good both with friendly cats, and with cat-savvy/cat-friendly dogs.

He has the most gorgeous green eyes, and he loves to play and chase toys! He is still a young boy and has a great deal of energy. He may have been mistreated by men (or just didn't have one to interact with in his former home) as he is very friendly with them, but when they stand up he backs away worriedly. (However, he comes right back over when called.) He's fine with women. The foster family had no children, but he'd probably be fine with older children who didn't chase him or try to scare him. He LOVES to lay in laps!

Email to meet this sweet adorable boy! He needs to find his new home, after such a tragic past... and yes, his ribbons will go home with him!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Orion, a Morgan Hill Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Morgan Hill, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Morgan Hill.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Morgan Hill already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Morgan Hill breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Morgan Hill paves the way for another one to be saved.
