Bing and Suzy's Story...
These two little Cockatiels were found at Animal Control by a friendly person and brought to us. We don’t know anything about their background, but they are both very sweet little guys. They are hand tame and friendly.

Bing acquired his name by being a crooner. Of course, we had to name him Bing, for Bing Crosby, the famous crooner. Bing and Suzy are very bonded to each other and gain support from each other. We would like to keep them together.

Because they are so gentle, Bing and Suzy would make great family pets. They are very good with people. For a busy family where everyone goes off to school or work, they can be company for each other during the day. But, they will then love to be your pet when you are home.

(Due to their intake through Animal Control, these two have had additional testing. They have been screened for Polyoma, Chlamydia, PBFD, and Avian Herpes [Pacheco's].)

Bing and Suzy's approximate hatch dates are unknown, and their adoption donation is $120 for both birds.

For information on some of the characteristics of these birds, see this Species Profile page: http://www.staravian.org/species_profiles.html#Cockatiel

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bing and Suzy, a St. Louis Cockatiel was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cockatiel for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Cockatiel from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cockatiel breeders who help with Cockatiel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
