Aspen's Story...
Aspen is a 1-2 year old unspayed female Golden Retriever who came to the shelter as a stray. If not claimed will be available for adoption on January 17th after 6pm. Aspen has been recently treated for wounds to her head and side of her face, which are healing nicely. During her stay at the shelter we have witnessed Aspen with children and she adores them. She is very gentle and respectful of their smaller size, and does not jump or knock them over. Aspen is a sweet girl with lots of love and energy to offer a family in exchange for someone who will care for her and make her part of their family.

If you want to apply for Aspen click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Humane Society.Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Aspen, a Meridian Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
