Morty's Story...
Morty is a playful, fun and energetic, 10-month-old, 50-pound, male, yellow lab-mix looking for a loving guardian. Morty can be jumpy and rambunctious, but he can also settle down and be fun and loving. He appears to be housebroken. He sits on command and gives left paw and right paw. He also takes treats nicely from your fingers. Morty loves to play ball and is a very smart dog who loves to learn and be trained. He loves to go for walks and be snuggled and pet. Morty is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, de-wormed, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. If you are interested in meeting and possibly fostering or adopting him, please contact Gloria at or 773-907-0305. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of Famous Fido’s. The Famous Fido rescue has dogs of all sizes and ages looking for loving guardians. They spend their days at the Grooming Boutique and Bakery at 5430 N. Clark Street in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. Stop in, buy your dog a cookie and meet some of these lovable souls.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Morty, a Chicago Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
