Hi, I’m Sam. I am not sure what breed(s) I am but I should grow up to be a medium to large sized dog. My foster mom likes to call me a little ‘chunk’ and I think that’s a good thing. I am extremely handsome and have the most piercing blue eyes – can you believe it? I am told they are just dreamy. I am very friendly and playful and I have a very sweet cuddly side. I like to play with people and other dogs and my foster-buddy labs are teaching me lots of play techniques. I am also quite fond of cats, barking at them anyway (I don’t quite get what they are yet). I don’t mean them any harm really, but puppies like me need to bark at cats! I am quite smart and already know the basics of sit and down commands and my foster mom promises to work some more stuff. I already know to sit before my food dish hits the floor – isn’t that neat? If you offer me treats I promise to learn more!
I am crate trained and sleep all night in the crate. I am not quite house trained but I am getting better and just need a little more work like other pups my age. I happily go in my crate at night because I get a treat. I will also put myself to bed in the crate if I get tired a bit earlier than normal bed time. I ride well in the car, crated, and am getting used to walking on a leash, going places and visiting all kinds of other people and dogs. When I was left at the shelter I just never knew life could be so exciting!
I am up to date on my shots, neutered and microchipped and just can’t wait for a new home who wants a handsome guy like me.
Rescue Group Info...
Friends of Rescue is a certified 501(c)(3) organization consisting of volunteers who are devoted to saving shelter dogs that are in danger of euthanasia. Rural Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee shelters have a constant overflow of dogs, little funding, and limited space. Once the dogs arrive at the shelter, they have very little time. It is our goal to help save these adoptable dogs and adopt them out to loving families. Although our priorities are the retriever breeds, we are not limiting ourselves to retrievers because we know that there are many great dogs that need our help. We are NOT professional trainers or animal behaviorists; simply volunteers who are trying to save these dogs from euthanasia.
We have many wonderful dogs looking for FORever Homes!
Our adoption fee covers their complete age-appropriate vetting, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/flea prevention, and full medical records.
Please email us at info@FORrescue.net for an application to begin the adoption process.
