Stitch's Story...
Stitch is our 4 year old male who you can see from the photo has a laid back personality. He came to AGB from an owner who has had to move and is not allowed to take the dog to the their new home. Stitch started his journey as a shelter dog and his owner didn't want him to go through that again. He loves people but is pretty chilled out. Sadly, during his wellness check he was found to be heartworm positive. Doc says he'll be good as new as soon as he completes treatment and will be in search of a new home. He needs a forever family to give lots of ear scratches and toy time. Does that sound like you? See him at www.adoptagoldenbirmingham.com. or call 205-290-7788, or email lindsay@adoptagoldenbirmingham.com. If you aren't able to adopt, please consider donating. Stitch's heartworm treatment is costly and all donations are tax deductible.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stitch, a BIRMINGHAM Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in BIRMINGHAM, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in BIRMINGHAM.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in BIRMINGHAM already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a BIRMINGHAM breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in BIRMINGHAM paves the way for another one to be saved.
