Come Meet Our Pets...
We've had 2 adoption events at the Tractor's Supply, here in Childress, TX. The first one was in Sept, 2012 - we had 4 adoptions. The last adoption event was Oct. 27, 2012 - there was one adoption.
Our Adoption Process...
We have an Adoption Application to be completed by potential adopters.
Since we are not 501(c)3 yet (working on that one), we cannot charge an adoption fee, but we do accept donations at the time of adoption.
We follow up with adopters, making sure the adoption was a good fit, that all is working out. Our application specifies, if adoption does not work out for any reason, that we take the animal back.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We are located in Childress, TX and will serve surrounding towns, even into Oklahoma.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thelma, a Childress Mountain Cur dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mountain Cur for sale in Childress, or seeking a Mountain Cur dog from a breeder in Childress.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Childress already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Childress breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mountain Cur breeders who help with Mountain Cur rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Childress paves the way for another one to be saved.
