"Hi, everybody! My name is GYPSY, and I'm the cutest little snuggle-bug you'll ever meet! I'm an eight-year-old Chihuahua lady who is looking for that special person or family who wants a precious, loving dog who loves to snuggle. I'm quite small, so I'd make a wonderful house or apartment dog. I'm a true lady, so I'm already house trained. I'd be a great pet in a home with older, considerate kids, and I get along nicely with other dogs. Another great thing about me is that I'm a "Super Senior," so MY ADOPTION FEE IS ONLY $30! My adoption fee includes my microchip and a free visit at one of our local vets. Won't you come visit me at the El Cajon Animal Shelter? I'd really love to get to know you better in our lovely play yard. Our helpful shelter staff will be happy to arrange it. Please come see me in kennel # 11. Maybe I'm that adorable little lap dog that you've been dreaming about. I'll be watching for you. Love, Gypsy"
Shelter Info...
We are the Animal Shelter for the City of El Cajon. We also house animals for the City of La Mesa. We take in strays and animals relinquished by their owners from these two City's only. We adopt out the animals that are not claimed by their owners. You do not have to live within the City to adopt an animal from us. We sometimes have animals other than dogs and cats.
We are located in the City of El Cajon which is east of San Diego. 1275 N. Marshall is two blocks north of Fletcher Parkway, Marshall runs parallel with the trolley tracks.
We are open Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 5pm. The latest we start an adoption is 4:30. We are closed Sundays and Mondays.
Our adoption fee for dogs is $80.00 and cats are $80.00 All other animal adoption fee's are based on the type of animal.
We do an evaluation with you and the animal to be sure that it is the best animal for you. We require that all children in the household under 9 years old be evaluated with the animal and if you are adopting a dog and you currently own a dog, your dog needs to be evaluated with the new dog to be sure they get along.
