My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

In Bath , NY
UPDATE 4/18/2013
Radar is now almost 8 months old, and still waiting for his forever home. He is now approx 45 - 50 pounds. He can hear certain tones but not very much. The limited vision that he has, allows hims to get around very well, whether his is with another dog or on his own. On his own he just goes a little slower, more carefully, and may occassionally bump into something. Radar really does not understand that he has impairments. He is a very sweet male dog who is happy, healthy and well adjusted. He does very well in his foster home. He loves the 12 year old boy there and he gets along well with the other dogs and 2 cats.
Radar is eager to please, thrives on attention and will snuggle at any opportunity. His foster mom is working on teaching him some more hand signals.
Radar is a very special boy. If you are seriously considering adopting a special needs dog, please consider Radar.

- Hi! My name is Radar. I am currently accepting applications for my forever home. Could that be you? My foster mom says I am a special needs puppy. She tells me that it means I am special, and that I need a special forever home. I am a purebred male catahoula puppy, and I am 4 months old. I have vision impairment in both eyes and most likely I am deaf. But, I do not let that stop me. Sometimes I rely on my sister or one of the 2 adult male dogs that live here. And my foster mom encourages me to be independent and to be all that I can be. I have been in foster for a week and a half. Already I am crate trained, walking on a leash and being a good boy. I am working hard on the potty training and my foster mom says I almost have that mastered! I am learning not to jump on people, and same basic commands, using hand signals. Since I am a special boy, I have a lot of love, and kisses to give, and I really like to snuggle. They think I am a little more laid back than my sister. I am hoping for a forever home where there is a laid back, easy going female dog who can show me around and teach me the ropes.
