I am housetrained, good with dogs, and good with cats.
"Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and write up! Please, let me introduce myself and share my story.
My name is Kip, a fella who was just down on his luck and looking for a break.
Here are my stats: I am a Lab / Shepherd mix. I weigh approximately 60 lbs. I am somewhere between 5-7 years old in human years. I get along well with other dogs and cats. I am crate trained and house trained.
I arrived at PAWS, a quaint little rescue in Northern Maine, as a stray. The volunteers at PAWS opened their loving arms to me. They loved me so much, but could not provide me with the training and exercise I needed and I began to show signs of stress and was unable to cope with life as a shelter dog. My family at PAWS did the most wonderful thing anyone could have ever done for me - they sent me to live with Sergei and his family at the Dog Rehabilitation Center of Maine.
Sergei, his family, and his rescue pack opened their beautiful home to me and healed my mind, my body, and soul. What an amazing relief to finally be understood and know that life will only get more perfect from here. My time with the Dog Rehabilitation Center has prepared me to leave the nest and there is no looking back!
I have been spending time socializing and being exposed to everyday life events. I have been everywhere with Sergei, such as the grocery stores and local pet stores, as well as being an integral part of his wonderful family. I love the company of other animals and would love to find a forever home with both 2 and 4 legged family members who will accept me like Sergei's pack accepted me into their life.
What makes me happiest you ask? Just being part of a family, that is all.
I do not require a great deal. A jog on the treadmill every once in a while, a daily walk or two and some time for lovin and playing throughout my day. I really want to be accepted and have worked so hard for this chance.
I have waited so long for this. I hope all my schooling really pays off and a family adopts me after reading my story.
Please ask about visiting with me. Sergei and his center will be there for us every step of the way. I am easy going guy just looking for my chance to become a member of your family!"
Kip is truly an amazingly special dog, who was greatly misunderstood.

We are a volunteer-run organization dedicated to saving dogs that are surrendered locally or that are in danger in high-kill shelters. Our only desire is to place our dogs with loving forever homes. All dogs are in foster care prior to adoption for a minimum of one week, and you are welcome to meet available dogs after your application is approved.
You may make a donation directly on our site with any "donate" button. Our paypal address is email@example.com. You may also contact us regarding payment by check or in-kind donations.
We do not have a physical facility, all our dogs are cared for in foster families. Once approved through our rescue we will make arrangements for you to meet your potential new family member.
We require a completed application, reference checks and a home visit before families meet a prospective new family member. Our adoption fee is $300.00 for dogs 6 and under, $250.00 for dogs 7 and older.
