Merlin's Info...
| Breed: | Australian Shepherd | Color: | Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut | Age: | Young |
| Size: | Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) | Sex: | Male |
He is 12 to 18 months of age and looks to be purebred Aussie. Merlin apparently suffered terribly injuries in his puppy days. X-rays show his pelvis and hips were crushed (maybe from being run-over by something). The injuries were not treated. His hips and pelvis are fused so he has very limited mobility of his back legs. This amazing, precious dog has somehow recovered from his horrendous injuries (enduring terrible pain) and has learned to walk (and run) in spite of his disabilities. He obviously is not going to let a little thing like crushed hips and pelvis slow him down. When I met him, I walked in his kennel as a perfect stranger. He greeted me by wiggling his little back end and showering me with doggie kisses. PLEASE help Merlin find a special home! This boy deserves ALOT better than he's received so far. He is neutered, vaccinated and ready for a forever loving home!
Rescue Group Info...
Faithful Friends Animal Advocates, Inc is a non-profit organization commited to helping our community become a place where animals are treated with kindness and respect. Further, we want to be a voice for the welfare of animals in our community through various avenues. Our goal is to build an adoption center for the Neosho, MO community in order to benefit the abused, abandoned and neglected domestic animals in our community.
People
The organization is comprised of volunteers who meet nearly weekly to organize events in order that we may serve the community successfully. There are many different opportunities to volunteer and donate time or financial gifts. If you are at all interested or know someone who would like to support our efforts, please contact us.
We typically host adoption events on the first Saturday of every month. All other opportunities to meet our pets are done by appointment only.
If you are interested in one of our adoptable pets; first you must fill out an adoption application. Upon review, FFAA members will screen your application, a meet and greet for you and the pet will be set up. If there are no reservations on either party, the adoption contract will need to be filled out and signed. There is an adoption fee for all animals to help cover veterinary care prior to placement.
We are out of Neosho, MO in southwest Missouri. We strive to help those in need in Newton and McDonald Counties. We do not currently have a facility for holding animals, so we rely on volunteer foster homes.
