Callie's Story...
Meet Callie!!

Callie is a 10+ year old tri-colored Border Collie! This sweet girl was found all alone in a park in Chicago on a rainy day, and brought to a local animal hospital, where they took great care of her.
Callie is shy and takes a little time to warm up, but it doesn't take too long before she looks at you with her sweet eyes and wags her tail. She is a petite 23 pounds, and is growing out a bad haircut. This cute little girl is very mobile and agile and you would never guess she was over 10-years old.
Due to severe dental disease, over 30 of Callie's teeth were pulled, leaving only three. She has excellent bloodwork, is fully vaccinated and microchipped, spayed and heartworm negative.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Callie, a Gurnee Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Gurnee, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Gurnee.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gurnee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gurnee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gurnee paves the way for another one to be saved.
