Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chipper is a well-socialized, trusting, sweet and loving, four-year-old, ten-pound, male fawn Chihuahua looking for a loving guardian. Chipper loves to cuddle and hang out on your lap. He is also full of kisses and tail wags. Chipper loves people and gets along with dogs of all shapes and sizes, and does just fine in a home with cats. He's a funny little dog with lots of personality. He is a fairly quiet dog who could live in a condo or apartment building. His only issue in life is his tendency to guard anything of high value with people and other dogs. So, he is looking for an experienced and patient dog-lover who can manage his behavior. This means he really only gets excited and over-stimulated at meal-time or when he’s getting a special treat or bone … other than that … he’s the perfect little dog. Chipper loves to go on walks and doesn’t mind the cold – especially when he’s wearing a coat. He is perfectly house-broken, non-destructive in the home and crate-trained. He doesn’t seem to know any formal commands but he will beg for a treat and play fetch. Chipper landed at Chicago Animal Care and Control when he was found as a stray. He had been badly attacked by another dog but thankfully survived; he is doing beautifully now but since one of his medical complications was a collapsed trachea, he wears a harness when going for walks instead of a collar. Chipper is neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm-tested. If you are interested in adopting Chipper please contact his foster mom Kyla at kyla.page@gmail.com or 206-910-2434. Chipper's adoption fee of $200 benefits the life saving work of Friends of Chicago Animal Care & Control. He is being fostered in Chicago.
