Moon's Story...

Moon came to our house to be reunited with her younger sister Alanah. They were both rescued by VOKRA. Both of them were moms at a young age and had to grow up quickly. These two silly kitties love to chase each other around, sneak up on one another, explore together and play with toys side by side. They both finally have the chance to develop healthy social skills and have a safe environment in which to explore.

Moon is a very sweet kitty cat. She is shyer than Alanah - she is more hesitant at first when strangers walk through the door, for example. But once she was comfortable in our apartment, she would sweep from room to room, checking in on what we were doing and observing us with large, attentive, honey-coloured eyes. She is much more acrobatic than Alanah and can twist and turn in the air in order to get that toy. And man, does she ever love to get her head scratched! She will purr like a jackhammer once you get your finger under her chin. Even though she is timid sometimes, she shows her love and appreciation by purring loudly while doing the following things: sitting next to you on the couch, playing with toys with you, eating her food, before she eats and is eagerly waiting for food, looking out the window, sitting in a pool of warm sun.

Like her sister, Moon loves having an appropriate human-to-cat ratio in her house. She loves seeing you in the mornings and will forcibly thump the top of her head on your offering knuckles to get her morning head rubs. After being home alone, she will greet you at the front door while observing your every move. She thrives in a calm, warm environment. She needs to be adopted into a home without young children or dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Moon, a Vancouver Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
