Aslyn's Story...
IDGSR WELCOMES ASLYN INTO THE SAFELY OF THE RESCUE! Aslyn has been with the rescue about 6 weeks now, we have gotten to know Aslyn well in that time. She is approx. 81lbs. and could easily reach 90lbs, which should be her maximum weight. She is beautiful and sweet. She has the easy and mellow temperament of a Golden Retriever and also the same kind of 'patience', meaning she doesn't get overly excited and in a frenzy while some the other younger dogs might. She does not bark alot and she is also a hugger. She will rise up and put her paws on your hips

and squeeze. She'd happily do this to you every day. She will also snuggle freely.
Aslyn is cat and small dog friendly and is great with children.
Some folks think Anatolians are only for farm animals and herding but Aslyn was raised around smaller animals and children.
If you read up on Anatolians, the funny thing is what they describe pretty much describes a German Shepherd as well.
Both are working/herding dogs.
She is completely housebroken and has very nice house and doggie manners. She can be trusted in the house and is well past the chewing stage and puppy destructive stage.
She is easy to handle and walks well on a leash.
Aslyn will fit well into any household.

Aslyn lived in a household with children; she is good with other animals. Her approximate age is 1-2 years. Aslyn is a very sweet girl who is looking for a loving home. Her previous owners were surrendering her to an animal shelter when she was taken into the rescue.

More information and pictures will be added as she is further evaluated.

If you are interested in adding this lovely girl to your family, please submit an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Aslyn, a Greeneville Anatolian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Anatolian Shepherd for sale in Greeneville, or seeking a Anatolian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Greeneville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greeneville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greeneville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Anatolian Shepherd breeders who help with Anatolian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greeneville paves the way for another one to be saved.
