Lexie's Story...
FOSTER LOCATION: Meridian, ID

Lexie is a Schipperke/Dachshund mix who is about 1 year old. This sweet little girl was found running loose in Lincoln County, Idaho. A nice family took her in, tried to find her owners and when that failed she placed her with Fuzzy Pawz Rescue.

Lexie is a smart dog and will learn quickly, she is house broken and ready willing and able to learn all you want to teach her. Although active when playing she does not show excessive energy, she is pretty calm and easy going. She really enjoys playing with her toys and will play with you or is happy to play by herself as well; Lexie has really enjoyed playing out in all the snow.

This cutie is a cuddler; her favorite spot is to be cuddled up with you wherever you are. But if told to stay down, then she will go to her bed. She does not like to be crated or left alone in a room while you are elsewhere. She does really well though sleeping on her own bed on the floor all through the night; although we are sure she would love to sleep with them.

She is a quiet calm dog but will bark when outside if she hears another dog; but she is not a yapper. Lexie has not had much leash time and will need to be worked with. However she is doing much better as now walks with you instead of being dragged. And she rides very well in the car.

Lexie is good with dogs of all sizes and has been around children and been fine, we are unsure how she would be with cats.

Lexie would do well in most any household however she would do better with people who are home a lot.

Lexie is vaccinated and has been recently spayed

If you would like to meet Lexie and possibly add her to your family, please complete an adoption application here: http://www.fuzzypawzrescue.com/adoptionapplication.htm

There is a $40 adoption fee plus the cost of her vetting.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lexie, a Boise Schipperke/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schipperke/Dachshund for sale in Boise, or seeking a Schipperke/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Boise.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boise already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boise breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schipperke/Dachshund breeders who help with Schipperke/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boise paves the way for another one to be saved.
