Maggie's Story...
Meet Maggie! Maggie is a loveable 56 lb 2 year old pit mix. She is good with other dogs and older children. A volunteer wrote: Maggie is stunning in every way: the strong lines of her face, the perfect shape of her body, her soft, well-groomed coat. Initially excited when on leash, she pulls slightly in an effort to actually get somewhere, but Maggie soon calms down and looks to her human companion for instruction. When left to her own devices, off leash in the backyard, she's a bit less confidant, prancing close behind, occasionally looking up shyly as she asks permission to go off on her own. Maggie is quite refined and polite. Not a lot of tongue wagging or barking, not a lot of over the top energy. She is low key in her displays of affection. Dare I say, civilized? She can hold your gaze for minutes at a time, sit patiently by your side without getting restless or bored, share your lunch without being greedy. Perhaps she was 2 legged in a former life. Like the best houseguest, Maggie will let you know how much she appreciates your attention. Her ears pull back, her eyes melt softly, her body quakes with enthusiasm (albeit subtly), as she soaks up everything you have to offer and cuddles close. If you prefer dogs to humans, and have pretty much given up on the latter, Maggie is the perfect match for you. She will remind you of the best friend you had years ago infused with the best attributes of the species we TRULY love. Maggie is, in fact, a dog but, as we sat together the other day, I realized I wouldn't have been surprised if she opened her mouth to speak. I'm sure she'd use big words and her syntax would be impeccable! Likely housetrained, Maggie is waiting for someone to love. How truly loved and lucky that person will be!

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a small, individual, private rescue group dedicated to giving unwanted dogs and cats a second chance. Most of the animals we rescue are strays and or owner surrenders to high kill city shelters. Many of them have been pulled off “death row”. We are very passionate about what we do, we love and care for these animals unconditionally. Our goal is to place our homeless rescues in permanent loving homes as their former owners have already abandoned them at least once before.

Adoption process includes adoption application, phone interview and home visit. Vet references are checked!

Come Meet Our Pets...
We do not have a physical shelter, we place our rescues in foster homes or boarding facilities where they are socialized and nurtured back to health before we place them in their forever home. If you are interested in adopting a friend, kindly look at our available pet on this site.
Our Adoption Process...
Adoption/Foster Application must be completed online via the link below.

Home visit is required along with Vet references. Our full list of fees have been listed on the adoption application. Our dogs come fully vetted and have to be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
Our rescue has a network of volunteers that cover most of NY and the tri-state area. We rescue dogs and cats from "Death Row" at the local shelters and provide them with a Second Chance in life.
