Lucy's Story...
Meet SCR's newest baby Lucy! Lucy was pulled from the ACC yesterday. SCR could not bear to watch her suffer in pain, her feet were swollen due to her mange. Lucy is estimated to be 3 years old, about 55 pounds, a medium sized girl. She was brought in by the police who found her tied to outside a building for several hours. . :( Here is what the volunteer wrote about Lucy. She has some mange, possibly some allergies, but it is clear that she needs treatment and relief. Her feet and legs are swollen and red, and her skin is just 'hot' in general. She is a little girl who at one time was a beloved pet as she shows all the signs of training and socialization. She is likely housetrained 'going' as soon as we were out the door. Her leash manners are excellent and she checks up constantly as we walk. She sits on command, takes treats sooooo gently, and is happy to be petted and talked to. She didn't mind being tethered for photos and posed like a rock star. Lucy seems a little wary of other dogs we met, preferring the company of her new human friend. I took Lucy in to see the vet when we returned to the building, and she allows all handling and examination with no issue. Lucy is a gentle sweetheart who will be so stunning once her skin issues have been treated. She needs TLC; a person who is willing to make the commitment to her for the long haul. She needs her knight in shining armor to rescue this damsel in distress. Her unconditional love will be the treasure and the reward. Ask to meet Lucy today; she needs you.

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a small, individual, private rescue group dedicated to giving unwanted dogs and cats a second chance. Most of the animals we rescue are strays and or owner surrenders to high kill city shelters. Many of them have been pulled off “death row”. We are very passionate about what we do, we love and care for these animals unconditionally. Our goal is to place our homeless rescues in permanent loving homes as their former owners have already abandoned them at least once before.

Adoption process includes adoption application, phone interview and home visit. Vet references are checked!
Come Meet Our Pets...
We do not have a physical shelter, we place our rescues in foster homes or boarding facilities where they are socialized and nurtured back to health before we place them in their forever home. If you are interested in adopting a friend, kindly look at our available pet on this site.

Home visit is required along with Vet references. Our full list of fees have been listed on the adoption application. Our dogs come fully vetted and have to be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

Our rescue has a network of volunteers that cover most of NY and the tri-state area. We rescue dogs and cats from "Death Row" at the local shelters and provide them with a Second Chance in life.
