Tic's Story...
This is Tic. She is a 7 month old beautiful black lab who is an absolute sweetheart. Tic will be average in size for a female lab and when full grown be approximately 55 lbs. She loves playing fetch, loves her toys - any kind will do. Mostly though, she would love to be in your lap or in your arms. Tic walks well on a leash, sometimes her nose gets the better of her and she will pull a little. She has great recall when off leash, especially if there is a game of fetch involved. She loves other dogs, although she can be a bit much for them. She is unsure about cats, but hasn't made any attempt to hurt them. Tic would benefit greatly from a basic obedience class, as she really wants to please everyone. She is a jumper but she is working hard on the "off" and "sit" command and doing very well. This sweet girl would be a great addition to any family.
Tic is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and micro-chipped. She is also on flea and tick preventative and heartworm preventative. Tic is crate trained. If you think you would be the perfect home for this sweet girl Tic, please indicate her in the notes section of our online application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tic, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
