Poppy's Info...

I am already neutered, a special needs pet, and up to date with shots.

Poppy's Story...
Penelope came into care with her babies, very thin and needing care - left in a carrier on the steps of SDHS in the rain.
So covered in fleas 3 of the 7 baby boys didn't have a chance.

Pal, Poppy and Parker were all left with serious auto-immune issues and were prone to out-breaks of skin lesions, Upper Respiratory Like symptons, and snotty noses.
Parker did find his forever home and is doing very well.
Pal and Poppy have been in a loving, caring foster home so SDHS could comfortably place them into an adoptive home.
Pal still have snotty sneezes but is not ill. He has not had skin lesion breakouts in over 1 year. His eyes do run and he does get his eyedrops once a week. The perfect home would not smoke and like to sweep and wipe walls after this beautiful boy enjoys his brushing.
Poppy is doing much better, has not had skin lesion breakouts in over 1 year and has never had the snotty nose. He does like to gobble his food and does present hairballs on occasion. He needs to be brushed regularly.
Both boys are eating grain free food and are doing well on it. They are exceptionally loving and will make GREAT companions for someone who has the patience and time to help them when they do have a breakout!
Both boys are exceptionally well mannered, very social, and very accepting of handling as they have had so much interaction and ongoing medical assessments and care and visits with strangers.
It really is time to find their Purrfect Home with their Furrever Family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Poppy, a Simcoe Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Simcoe, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Simcoe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Simcoe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Simcoe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Simcoe paves the way for another one to be saved.
