I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Why Hello there! My name is Toby! I’m a sweet, smart, athletic guy. I love to run and play and also love to snuggle. I am house trained and crate trained and I like big dogs, but little dogs squeak a lot and my foster mom says I don’t play with them or with cats appropriately. I love my toys and as you can see in my videos I think older kids are really cool to hang out with. I do like to play outside, but not by myself, so I really need someone who will play with me and take me for walks to help me get out some energy so that we can cuddle and watch tv later.
I came to rescue because I had too much energy for my previous owners and they didn’t have enough time to play with me or take me for walks and I was passed around to a couple different places which is a lot for being only 3 years old.
I think it would be really cool if I could be someone’s running or hiking buddy, but I’ll settle for a lot of play in the backyard most days. J I am also up for learning agility if anyone wanted to teach me. I know how to sit and focus really well when you have treats, but otherwise I need to work on my manners a little because sometimes I like to jump up to greet people and I like to jump on the furniture and occasionally sneak a peek on the counter tops.
Food is the way to my heart, and good butt scritch and belly rub go a long way with me! I am neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and have current blood work. My adoption fee is $250 and come with a basic obedience class.

Rescue Group Info...
A Soft Place To Land, Inc. was founded in 2010 by two dog lovers and best friends. We are a small foster home-based rescue, so we do not have a shelter facility. As former breeders of English Springer Spaniels, we realized there were too many dogs out there without homes - why breed more dogs?! So we decided to rescue retired breeders so they would not be euthanized. Our hope is that eventually, through awareness of the plight of puppy mill dogs, more people will choose to adopt a pet instead of purchasing a pet through a pet store - making puppy mills a thing of the past!
We have a "donate" button on our web site. We also have a wish list on Amazon.com. We always need cleaning items, old bedding, old towels, dog beds, gas cards, and just about anything else you can think of!
We are having a meet and greets at the following locations
www.softplacetoland.org.
Step 1: Fill out an adoption application.
Step 2: Someone from A Soft Place To Land will contact you to set up a home visit and interview. After the home visit applicants and the rescue can take up to 24 hours to decide if the dog is the right fit.
Step 3: When approved, sign adoption contract and pay adoption fees.
Adoption fees are roughly as follows:
Dogs under 6 months of age - $350
Dog from 6 months to 8 years - $225 - $300
Dogs over 8 years - $100 - $225
We prefer to adopt in the state of Colorado as our resources are limited and generally we are not able to perform home visits further away than 6 hours. The dogs we rescue are primarily retired commercial breeding dogs and we like to make sure the dog will be comfortable in your home before we complete the adoption. If the adopter lives further away, it is difficult to know how the dogs will react to the new environment. If there is a problem, we require that the dog be returned to the rescue to re-home and the distance to transport could be an issue. However, if you are willing to come meet the dog and are willing to send us pictures of your home, we will consider it. (In state applicants would be considered first if multiple applications were received on the same dog.)
