Deedee's Story...
Deedee is a stunning 2 year old 14 pound Dachshund cross. She is very outgoing, sweet and playful, but loves to settle down and sidle up for snuggles. She loves everyone she meets and adores her small dog friends. We are not sure about kids and cats at this time. She is a sturdy little gal even though she is small and she could accompany you in just about any activity. Her charming ways will captivate you and you will laugh at her silly antics!

Deedee is working on her house training. As with all of our dogs, even if they master this at our cozy in home shelter, they are likely going to have to continue their education once they go home.

Her time was was up do to crowding at the high kill Carson Shelter in Los Angeles so she has come to the east coast for her second chance!

Is Deedee your new best friend? If so please go to and fill out an Adoption Application on the Adopt Now page. Please call Annie if you have any questions about our dogs or the adoption process 802-387-4710.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Deedee, a Hillsborough Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Hillsborough, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Hillsborough.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hillsborough already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hillsborough breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hillsborough paves the way for another one to be saved.
