Wicket's Info...
| Breed: | Maine Coon | Color: | Brown Tabby | Age: | Adult |
| Sex: | Male | Hair: | Long |
Meet Wicket! Wicket was dumped at a shopping mall with another cat. Wicket is sweet but can be tempermental. He's also BIG! He's a Maine Coon mix, about 4 years old.
Wicket is FIV+. This means he needs to be an only cat or with other FIV cats and kept indoors at all times. He will need to be kept current on all vaccinations. FIV is not a death sentence for cats if they are well taken care of, and most FIV+ cats live long and healthy lives. Here is a link to more info about FIV: http://www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/brochures/fiv.html
Wicket will make a wonderful companion for just the right person!
Rescue Group Info...
I have been rescuing cats and kittens for years and am passionate about changing the public's opinion of cats. There is a negative sterotype to cats that is just not true. People perceive cats as lazy, aloof, independent and uncaring but cats are not these things. They make wonderful companions that are snuggly, loving and relatively low-maintenance.
All visits with adoptable cats must be pre-arranged as I operate out of my home. Adoption events are scheduled monthly and listed on my Facebook page.
Kitten season is in full swing at the Whisker house! Come meet your new fuzzy friend!
Each adoption may consist of a home visit to ensure that the cat is a good fit for the family. An adoption contract and minimum donation is also required. Cats over one year are $65 and cats under one year are $75.
Each cat and kitten is spayed or neutered, de-wormed, given a flea preventive, given all vaccinations including rabies, and FIV/FeLV tested. The average amount we spend on each cat for these things is $127, so you're getting a bargain!
Intake procedure: intake is currently closed as the rescue is at capacity. However, each intake is done on a case by case basis. If you have a cat or kitten that needs a home, please email me with as much info as possible (i.e. age, is the cat fixed, vaccinated, combo tested, good with other cats, kids, dogs, etc) and attach a couple of pictures if possible. If this info is not included I will not respond. There is a minimum surrender donation required of $50 for vetted cats and $100 for non-vetted and pregnant cats.
We adopt out cats and kittens in the San Antonio and surrounding areas, including Bexar and Comal counties.
