Boxie's Story...
Boxie is a gorgeous, pure white, blue-eyed sweetheart. She was dumped in the parking lot of Animal Care Services in San Antonio in a giant microwave oven box, hence the name. I happened to be at ACS when she was brought in, and was so sad to see this terrified baby covered in sores all over her ears and fleas. I put a hold on her immediately so that she wouldn't be euthanized. At first we thought she had mange, but it turned out... to be horrible ear mites. She had scratched her ears and face bloody. She also has mild ringworm that we are treating.

Once Boxie got home with me, she came out of her shell super fast and is now a ball of purrs and love.

She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and FIV/FeLV neg. She is about 5 months old.

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
I have been rescuing cats and kittens for years and am passionate about changing the public's opinion of cats. There is a negative sterotype to cats that is just not true. People perceive cats as lazy, aloof, independent and uncaring but cats are not these things. They make wonderful companions that are snuggly, loving and relatively low-maintenance.
Come Meet Our Pets...
All visits with adoptable cats must be pre-arranged as I operate out of my home. Adoption events are scheduled monthly and listed on my Facebook page.

Kitten season is in full swing at the Whisker house! Come meet your new fuzzy friend!

Our Adoption Process...
Each adoption may consist of a home visit to ensure that the cat is a good fit for the family. An adoption contract and minimum donation is also required. Cats over one year are $65 and cats under one year are $75.

Each cat and kitten is spayed or neutered, de-wormed, given a flea preventive, given all vaccinations including rabies, and FIV/FeLV tested. The average amount we spend on each cat for these things is $127, so you're getting a bargain!

Intake procedure: intake is currently closed as the rescue is at capacity. However, each intake is done on a case by case basis. If you have a cat or kitten that needs a home, please email me with as much info as possible (i.e. age, is the cat fixed, vaccinated, combo tested, good with other cats, kids, dogs, etc) and attach a couple of pictures if possible. If this info is not included I will not respond. There is a minimum surrender donation required of $50 for vetted cats and $100 for non-vetted and pregnant cats.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Boxie, a San Antonio Domestic Mediumhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair kitten from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
