Pixie's Story...
Pixie is extremely shy and would prefer a barn or garage home. We're told she's a Snowshoe mix, although she looks more Siamese to us. She has the most beautiful blue eyes! She came from a home with 80 cats and was caught in an animal control raid. She was on death row at a high kill shelter before she came to us. Pixie is touchable by people she knows and trusts, but prefers to interact with humans from a safe distance. She would probably enjoy living with one mellow, friendly cat.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pixie, a Columbia Snowshoe cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Snowshoe for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Snowshoe cat from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Snowshoe breeders who help with Snowshoe rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
