Sam's Story...
Sam and his brothers and sisters were rescued from a rural animal shelter about a month ago when they were just teeny tiny pups. They are growing up and will be ready to be adopted on January 26, when they will be about 10 weeks old. We have never seen such a mixed bag of brothers and sisters! Mom was a fluffy black terrier mix about 35 lbs.....Dad was...well who knows? These puppies are sure cute, but puppies are a huge commitment of patience, time and energy. We are taking applications at this time. If you are interested in Sam, complete an application at www.henricohumane.org to get started

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Richmond Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) puppy from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
