Sampson's Story...
Sampson is a 10 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever that was recently rescued from a local animal shelter. He is a friendly and laid back boy, not to mention handsome. Sampson sits for a treat and when he sees his leash. He would love to accompany you on a brisk morning walk or a leisurely evening stroll and then curl up at your feet - or maybe beside you on the couch, where he would LOVE a nice massage! Sampson gets along fine with other dogs, but a home without cats would be best. He also loves to ride in the car and will jump right in! Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sampson, a Richmond Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chesapeake Bay Retriever for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chesapeake Bay Retriever breeders who help with Chesapeake Bay Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
