My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luke is a pure-bred bloodhound. He is 9 months old and was bottle-fed him from infancy but now the family has too many dogs and not enough money or time. There are 5 young children in the family and Luke is great with them, though the kids don't appreciate the typical bloodhound slobber! Luke is doing great in foster care at his veterinarian's office but that's no place for a big active dog, and he would love to find a home of his own. He has a gorgeous coat and is so handsome and playful. He is just begging to be loved by a real family. Luke was 75 lbs on december 1st and still has some growing to do. He is so sweet with every human he meets and he has some energy like most young dogs.

People who have met Luke feel he would do great in a search-and-rescue job. He likes other dogs and ignored the cats he met. We'd love to see Luke go to a family who is OK with slobber, likes to do active outdoor activities, and has lots of love to shower on this big babe! He doesn't have a lot of experience on leash or in a crate so we will work on those skills when he gets here. Please contact us if you have interest in Luke and if you have read up on the bloodhound breed.

To apply to adopt this dog, please visit our web site to access our application and learn more about adoption through Lucky Pup, www.luckypuprescue.com.

Please note: We do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.

Thank you for considering rescue!
