Rufus's Story...
Do you dream of long ears, squishy faces, and short-legged puppies? Look no further than your dream puppy, Rufus! Rufus is a 4 month old male Basset/Beagle/Hound mix puppy who is looking for his forever home. Rufus was surrendered to a high kill shelter in South Carolina along with his mother and 8 brothers and sisters. Surprisingly, his mother was adopted very quickly to a local family. We rescued the babies and now they are all healthy and looking for families. Rufus is a very outgoing, happy go lucky, playful puppy. He is a typical Hound, interested in smelling everything around him, but loves to get attention from people! Rufus loves children, and is awesome with other dogs. We do not expect him to get very tall, and should remain a medium sized dog. If interested, please contact Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rufus, a Sagaponack Basset Hound/Beagle puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Beagle for sale in Sagaponack, or seeking a Basset Hound/Beagle puppy from a breeder in Sagaponack.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sagaponack already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sagaponack breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Beagle breeders who help with Basset Hound/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sagaponack paves the way for another one to be saved.
