My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello good people. I'm Zara, which fits me beautifully. Zara has an English origin that means "Princess" and an Arabic origin that means "blossoming flower." Those are both me! I am a little bit like a princess in that I am exquisite looking and regal. Here at the shelter, though, I can't be regal because it is stressful here for me. Here it's like my flower petals have welted and I'm unhappy. But in your home, I know I will become a flower that will blossom and be happy--as my name implies.

I was found as a stray and brought to the MaxFund to find a new home. So we don't know anything about my background, but I know everyone is impressed that I was able to keep my gorgeous white fur looking so beautiful even being outside. I am a bit stressed out here by all of the other cats. They scare me and I get a bit hissy with them. I'm a sweet cat and enjoy attention. Sometimes I get overstimulated, though, when I get too many pets. I kind of have bad manners at that point and will swat at you. Oops. I suppose I should just pull away but I forget that and just react. I honestly don't know if I would get as overstimulated once I am in a home. Here at the shelter, I have to be alert to the other cats, staff, strangers and noises. So I can never relax and just enjoy the petting, and therefore, I get overstimulated. Please know that I do love attention and petting, and I am a good girl.

I also really enjoy laps. The truth is that I am full of love. I can't always receive the love I need here or express the love I have. But I've shown volunteers enough of the depth of my love that they are confident I will be even better at home.

So how about it? Will you come get me so I can turn into a blossoming flower at your house? Like other beautiful flowers, I'm sure I'll add warmth, happiness and color to your home.
