Bernie's Story...
Lap dog!! That’s what Bernie wants to be. It is believed that Bernie’s person died and the family did not want him, so they dropped him off at the local animal control where he was intercepted in the parking lot by a caring rescue person. He was brought to the spay/neuter clinic to be cared for where he stayed for quite a while until a family fostered him for about 6 months. They were no longer able to care for him so he was sent to his current foster home where he has settled in very quickly. Bernie is estimated to be 3-4 years old and weighs 13 lbs. He is intelligent, bright, very sweet and an absolute cuddle bug and lap dog. He is such a good boy and very well behaved. He loves to play with toys, is affectionate and sweet and just wants to be where you are. When he came to his current foster family he adjusted right away to the other dogs and his people as well, but he would also do just fine as an only dog. He would actually prefer a quiet home where he can sit on the couch and sleep in the bed with you. Bernie is just such a love and is very happy as long as his people are there. He jumps right in the car and is always ready to go for a ride. Bernie has been in 2 different foster homes the past few months and is so ready for a forever home. Would you please let this special little boy be your newest family member? He is house trained, crate trained, obedient and well mannered, vaccinated and ready to come to you.

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
Pooches & Purrs Cooperative is a group of rescues and individual rescuers that are working hard to find loving homes for the dogs, cats, kittens and puppies that find their way into our care through no fault of their own. Each individual or group has several wonderful dogs In Tennessee, Alabama or Kentucky looking for homes! All of them are completely vetted and neutered/spayed (if age appropriate) and on heartworm protection. All of them come with complete medical records. Their adoption fee of $450 covers their complete age appropriate vetting and heartworm preventative as well as their transportation to your area.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our rescues don't have an actual shelter building in the New England area. Due to this it is not always possible to meet them prior to their adoption. At times, a dog may be in foster care in New England and their bio will clearly be marked as such so you will know. These southern dogs & cats are brought up to their new owners weekly! We have a 14 day money back guarantee and the pet can be rehomed appropriately if things don't work out. Each group tries hard to get good matches in your homes so that everyone has a happy life together! To date the cooperative has placed over a two thousand dogs and puppies, cats and kittens in loving New England homes! Each group has many, many, references of happy adopters up in your area that can fill you in on their experience. Just email and they can pass along that information for your convenience. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bernie, a Allentown Chihuahua/Pomeranian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Pomeranian for sale in Allentown, or seeking a Chihuahua/Pomeranian dog from a breeder in Allentown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Allentown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Allentown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Pomeranian breeders who help with Chihuahua/Pomeranian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Allentown paves the way for another one to be saved.
