Mami's Story...
Hi! I am Mami.
The Vet says I am between 1.5~2 yrs old. I am already fixed, vaccinated and dewormed.
DRWB rescued me 5 months ago, I was a stray. But my foster loves me and has been taking care of me since.
I am very active, sweet, love to hunt birds! I enjoy the backyard and like to dig.... so please take me out for daily walks!!!! I dig when I get bored!
If you want to adopt me you have to have an excellent fence as I can easily escape, I am good at finding ways to go out to explore the world.
I live indoors and go on a pee pee pad, so I will need some training if you want me to transition from the pee pee pads to going outdoors, or if you want me to use a doggy door.
I socialize very well with my doggy friends, you see, my foster has dogs of her own and also a few fosters that are also waiting for their forever loving family!

Come Meet Our Pets...
Our pets are all cared for in foster homes. While in foster care, their foster family is making sure they receive lots of tender loving care and have any veterinary needs taken care of. This also gives the foster family an opportunity to learn about the dog's personality, so we can better assist you in selecting a dog that will be the best fit for you and your family.
Our Adoption Process...
Step 1
Fill out an application at our
website

Step 2
Submit your adoption application to us. It may take a few days before your application is processed and you receive a response back.

Step 3
If your application is approved, we will call you to schedule a "Meet & Greet".

If we have an upcoming adoption event.

We will set a time for you to come meet the dog that day, usually on Saturdays. Please make sure you take any family members and other dogs to see how the initial introduction goes.

If we DON’T have an upcoming adoption event.

And you have other dogs:
We will schedule to meet you, any family members, and other dogs near your home first; this makes the entry into the new home easier for the dog and for your family.

And you don’t have any other dogs:
We will schedule to meet you and any family members at your home.

Step 4
Meet your prospective new pet. Spend time with them and see how it goes.

Step 5
If your "Meet & Greet" goes well and you wish to adopt; you will complete an adoption contract at the appointment. We ask for a suggested adoption donation to help us cover spay/neutering, shots, medical treatment, food, supplies and temporary care. These suggested donation amounts only partially cover the cost of expenses involved. Your donation is tax deductible. It’s that easy!

Step 6
Take your new best friend home! Congratulations – you have saved a special life.

What if the adoption doesn't work out?
You can return any of our dogs as we don't want to see them turned into a shelter. The application process helps prevent such an issue, so it's very important that you are honest when answering the questions.

Not all dogs are compatible in all situations, so it is imperative that you are forthright in the application process to find the right match. However, be sure you are ready to make a full commitment to adopting a dog, whether a puppy or an adult.

It can take up to a few weeks for a dog to really adjust to his/her new environment. A lot really depends on the dog's past so the prospect of adopting should be well-thought-out & the commitment should be taken seriously.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mami, a San Diego Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
