Houdini's Story...
Houdini is 11 months old (10/2013) - 50 lbs. - neutered, current on all shots, and HW negative. He is a calm puppy, good with other dogs and cats and he's very nice to kids. Houdini was part of a litter of 14 puppies that were living outside in a nice man's yard in the 5th. They all had horrible ringworm, but received treatment and have completely overcome all skin issues. If you, or someone you know, is interested in fostering or adopting Houdini, please fill out the app on our website (http://forgottendogs.org) or give their foster mom, Lyda, a call at 713-416-2118.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Houdini, a Houston Labrador Retriever/Pointer puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Pointer for sale in Houston, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Pointer puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Pointer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
