Josh's Story...
Josh is 6 months old (5/2013) - 43 lbs. - neutered, current on all shots, and HW negative. He plays well with larger dogs and does well with cats and children too. He is not aggressive with smaller dogs, just a little dominant and could use some one-on-one training. Josh was part of a litter of 14 puppies that were living outside in a nice man's yard in the 5th. They all had ringworm, but have been receiving treatment and are doing much better. Josh is completely healed of the fungus and all of his hair has grown back, so he is ready for adoption. If you, or someone you know, is interested in fostering or adopting Josh, please fill out the app on our website (http://forgottendogs.org) or give their foster mom, Lyda, a call at 713-416-2118.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Josh, a Houston Labrador Retriever/Black Mouth Cur puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Black Mouth Cur for sale in Houston, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Black Mouth Cur puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Black Mouth Cur breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Black Mouth Cur rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
