Trapper's Story...
"Hello there everyone...if you are looking for an adorable Terrier-Pug mix fellow, then look no further than my kennel. My name is TRAPPER and I'm 1-1/2 years old and I'm ready for a new forever home with you! I'm a great size, too...just perfect for a house or an apartment. I've got a great personality, I love going for walks, I love getting brushed, and I enjoy tummy rubs, too. I get along nicely with other dogs, and I'd make a wonderful family pet. The shelter staff is fairly certain that I'm house trained, but they're still watching me to be sure. In my new forever home, I'd only need a smallish yard, where I could enjoy myself, and I'd love to have one of those snuggly and comfy dog beds of my very own in the house, so that I could always stay close to my person or my family. When you come to visit our shelter, be sure you ask our great Shelter Staff to introduce you to the very friendly and wonderful little dog, whose name is TRAPPER, and we just might discover that we are meant to be best pals and best friends "FUR"EVER. We are the Animal Shelter for the City of El Cajon. We also house animals for the City of La Mesa. We take in strays and animals relinquished by their owners from these two City's only. We adopt out the animals that are not claimed by their owners. You do not have to live within the City to adopt an animal from us. We sometimes have animals other than dogs and cats.

We are located in the City of El Cajon which is east of San Diego. 1275 N. Marshall is two blocks north of Fletcher Parkway, Marshall runs parallel with the trolley tracks.

We are open Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 5pm. The latest we start an adoption is 4:30. We are closed Sundays and Mondays.
Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fee for dogs is $80.00 and cats are $80.00 All other animal adoption fee's are based on the type of animal.

We do an evaluation with you and the animal to be sure that it is the best animal for you. We require that all children in the household under 9 years old be evaluated with the animal and if you are adopting a dog and you currently own a dog, your dog needs to be evaluated with the new dog to be sure they get along.
